Theme: Uniting Faith Leaders for Maternal & Child Health and Cervical Cancer Prevention
About the Conference:
The Faith in Action Conference is a two-day convening bringing together faith leaders, healthcare experts, civil society organizations, and policymakers to address critical public health challenges facing communities across Africa.
With a focus on Maternal & Child health, and Cervical Cancer Prevention, the conference underscores the vital role of faith communities in shaping healthcare delivery and driving equitable, life-saving interventions.
Building on the momentum of the 2024 Nairobi Convening on Cervical Cancer and HPV, this year’s event transitions from dialogue to tangible action; leveraging the trusted voices of faith leaders to advance cervical cancer prevention by increasing HPV vaccination rates, enhancing maternal and child health strategies, and removing barriers to preventive care, especially in underserved regions.
Conference Objectives:
Day 1: Defining the Crisis & Mobilizing Faith Leaders for Action
Objective: Establish a shared understanding of the health crisis, recognize the urgency of faith driven intervention and define commitment areas.
Day 2: Commitment Formulation & Roadmap to Action
Objective: Transition from discussions to structures commitments and develop a faith- driven action framework for health advocacy and service delivery.
Expected Outcomes:
Faith leaders are uniquely positioned to influence health-seeking behaviors and promote life-saving interventions. This conference is a call to action—moving faith beyond belief into healing, dignity, and advocacy.
